DEATH TO LIFE
the philosophy that brought this piece to life...
The Western world typically hears "Enlightenment" and either thinks religion or fantasy.
Contrary to this, cultures around the globe relate Enlightenment or Spiritual Awakening with a self-realization and release/freedom from social conditioning.
Our consciousness, our spirits, and our souls, (they have many names depending on the context), NEED a couple of important things if we are to live full, well-balanced, healthy, and joyful life filled with purpose and healthy relationships.
There has been many people across history that encouraged us to Do better & Be better, but there was a specific man who once walked this earth while teaching and living a good life; he said that in this life we experience this void and incomplete feeling [as a result of running after the pleasures of life like money, sex, the next high, power, gluttony, etc.] because we are cut off from our Creator; cut off from our Light Source. We are cut off because of our inherent selfishness, aggression, anger, and subsequent broken state.
Like a Zombie, we are flesh, already signed for death with no purpose, no light, no legacy, and no permanent identity.
But Creator has made way for us to have life, through the price paid by Jesus's sacrifice, we have been given the Gift of adoption into Creators family. Through his death, the price for humanity was paid so that we are no longer liable to receive the Ultimate Universal Consequence (death) for our inherent problems.
Buddhism calls it 'Enlightenment', Christians call it 'a transformative change of heart' or 'repentance', Jainism calls it 'Keval Gyan', Hinduism calls it 'Advaita Vedanta' or 'moksha/mukti'; meaning "to let loose, let go" of ones soul/consciousness...
In other words, everyone is discussing, on some level, a cycle of Death & Rebirth.
WAKING U P
FIVE Different Types of Awakenings and what they may look like.

-
Numinous - is a term derived from the Latin numen, meaning "arousing spiritual or religious emotion; mysterious or awe-inspiring. Numinous was derived in the 17th century from the Latin numen, meaning a "deity or spirit presiding over a thing or space." It describes the power or presence or realization of a divinity; or Monotheism
-
Nirvana - Is the ideas of spiritual liberation; literally, "blown out", (as in an oil lamp). This represents the ultimate state of spiritual release, the rescue from pain, suffering & darkness that we experience in this cycle of life.
-
Kevala - is roughly translated as complete understanding or supreme wisdom, that anyone can attain; believed to be an intrinsic quality of all souls.
-
Moksha - is a term in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism for various forms of emancipation, enlightenment, liberation, and release; referring to freedom from ignorance: self-realization, self-actualization and self-knowledge.
-
'Nature-mysticism' - referring to any kind of ecstasy or altered state of consciousness which is given a religious or spiritual meaning, while being wrapped in Nature; in other words, introduced or disclosed through Nature.

Step back & look at the similarities in the each concept... There is a common message there, all of it points to connecting to a Higher Power.
Our consciousness, our spirits, our souls, they have many names depending on what culture we find ourselves. in. One thing seems to be consistent though, our spirits NEED a couple important things if we are to find and experience Joy in this life; Purpose & Relationship.
The Creator wanted to show us how much we were loved. That was when a Man arrived on this Earth named Yeshua; He claimed to know the heart of the Creator and to prove it, He lived in a way that modeled unity and inclusivity; HE also DIED - FOR HUMANITY.

YESHUA didn't stay Dead, He rose from the grave after 3 Days and went to see his friends and family. He then gave them a message to pass onto anyone who would listen to their story; he declared that Humanity IS LOVED and CHOSEN by the Creator of the Universe!

When Yeshua came back from the dead, He showed us that Life On Earth is intended as a journey to find the Value of our Souls.
Yeshua showed us that the Creator loves us, He showed us that we do not have to earn this gift since it was already bought & paid for; but instead, JUST ACCEPT IT.
When we accept our gift, we become CHILDREN of THE Universal Intelligence. As a result we change our way of living during this life. We understand that our value lies in how we are remembered after we are gone and the good we did in other peoples lives while we are here.
DEATH TO LIFE
We were living a life that was leading to nothing but a grave; Our selfishness, hate, fears & pride control our journey and choices here on Earth (this life). When we begin to 'LIVE FOR MORE', our priorities change. We begin to live in a way that was demonstrated for us by YESHUA, Krishna, Buddha, Zoroaster, Horus in the way they cared for humanity; or even Gandhi, Mother Teresa or Saint Nicholas.
When I look at how YESHUA lived his life and the message he taught, he was the leader who Loved Others passionately, Served Others with his every breath and Claimed to know God’s Heart…. So this is why I follow His example.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”
2 Corinthians 5:17
THE STORY BEHIND
DEATH TO LIFE
I've been told that my mind works a bit differently. Some have said it's dark. Others have said it's beautiful. Regardless, I see this world in a different way than many.
I see trees around me that will likely outlive me. I see personality and character in animals that is rare in humans. I believe that we are just a small speck in a much bigger and utterly unexplainable universe.

This way of thinking, for a while, caused me literal heartache. I would find myself spiralling into a place where I was tempted to just give up. If I was just flesh that was going to die and be recycled back into energy, I didn't see a point to this life.

Over the years, as I healed my heart and mind and as I searched for truth and purpose in this crazy world, I started to realize that we are more than flesh and bone. Humanity has a consciousness and complexity that science is still exploring. We function differently than most things in nature because we plan, dream and love. There is much more to it, but to summarize; we are unique, and I believe we are created for a purpose.

When I came to this realization, it was like I was awakened, reborn, enlightened
Like I was dead, zombie-like, and now I had a new purpose.
The spirit inside me isn't my body but wearing my body as an astronaut wears a space suit;
Its purpose is to impact this world for good; to be connected to others like me, and to protect this planet we've ended up on.
This change of thought awakened my soul in a way that I have struggled to explain.

I believe this is why Jesus called it Rebirth.
