the philosophy that brought this piece to life...
Our MINDS are often holding us captive; with our fears, with our shame, ...causing our trauma responses & even disabling us.
Like many other things, it has many names; Ego, Soul or Sub-Conscious.
Our HEARTS are usually what is broken first; Our Intention, When we hope in something & we are let down, when we love & it's not returned, when we grieve a major loss, ...it all comes from our Heart, the ID, the child like part of us; the Spirit.
Many great leaders, Jesus included, taught their followers that the HEART of a person is what truly matters the most.
What is in our HEARTS, motivates our actions, fuels our choices, affects how our body functions, and shapes our world views...
... it is also known by the Creator, the Universe, the Supreme Intelligence.
CREATOR needs to heal HEARTS before changing MINDS; impacting & changing habits and patterns in the individual on a deeper and more spiritual level as a result.
There is power in THREE; the Mind, the Body, the Heart.
Mind = Soul -
Body = DNA -
Heart = Spirit -

Essentially, we cannot find our truth or real-self at the top, if our survival needs at the bottom are not met first.

The Beauty in this is that our CREATOR knew that this was how humanity was programmed; because They are the original programmer. The brilliance in the parallels of THREES, the human body's survival & healing functions, the differences in the conscious from the subconscious; THIS is the beautiful wonder of our Creator.

The Creator Source also knows about our hurts, traumas & betrayals…. The things that shaped our perception of this world; And Creator offers us a way to heal; a way to find our true Value.
The Creator & Supreme Intelligence, desires to see our survival needs met first, only because They understand that the human body cannot feel safe without them. They also knows that we cannot even begin to understand the LOVE & belonging that has been offered to us, if we don't feel safe first. All the other changes in behavior; the renewing, so to speak, happens AFTER the individual has reached the 3rd tier - LOVE. Which we've been told by Jesus & other, that 'Creator IS LOVE.'
Our Creator, our 'Father', our Savior, wants to meet our needs FIRST, so that we can understand Their LOVE in its entirety.
This world's modern science allows us access to therapy, medicines & professionals that can help us find the right healing for us. Just like a diabetic needs insulin to function properly, WE, as traumatized humans, need to heal before we can begin to understand our true value, purpose & place in this world.

COMES FIRST
The home I grew up in was considered a Christian home. We went to an evangelical church. My dad's family were missionaries and pastors, whereas my mom's family were farmers. A common phrase in our home was "actions speak louder than words" and 'tough love' was a foundation of their parenting. Most things were very black and white with very little grey area. They wanted me to fit into a specific learning style or operate a certain way.
As a child, I had a brain full of questions, all of which were unconventional and complicated. That's a problem when living in a world of black-and-white concepts. My brain wanted to talk about the grey areas so I could better understand, but there was no room for that curiosity. Many times my curiosity and questions were met with strong opinions and judgments surrounding my state of mind. Early on I heard the questioning reproaches of family members and church friends, questioning my beliefs. All the while, I had teachers from school and bosses at work questioning my capabilities. I was personally struggling to accept that I was enough, for anyone.
As an adult who has been healing, I realize that I was just a curious child that was asking hard questions. The adults in my life were only working with what they knew, and they didn't know what to do with me.
My mind was curious, my heart was hopeful.
The humans in my life let me down. They let me believe that it was wrong to ask unusual questions, or that I was irritating for asking the hard questions they struggled to answer. They made me feel that being uncomfortably different meant something was wrong with me. I was complicated at a young age and the humans around me allowed me to believe that was a flaw in who I was.

My mind became dark and my heart became broken and hard
​
A hard & broken heart, paired with dark & intrusive thoughts, caused me to make choices from a place of hurt, pain and rebellion; as a result of this disconnect, I subjected myself to unhealthy relationships and abuse. I struggled to understand healthy boundaries or to notice unhealthy behaviours. As a result, I now struggle with PTSD and a Major Depressive disorder.
From personal experience, I realized that our Spirits are a little piece of the Creators DNA; the divine spark that makes us a direct reflection of our Creator; our Souls are the Universal part of us, that can be recycled and shared; and our bodies are custom made vehicles, designed for protection from this hostile environment. Emotions are fleeting but they are rooted in the knowledge we carry in our minds regarding life, relationships, standards, goals and expectations.
Our mind creates goals and our heart pursues them.
Many religions want to see actions to prove that we are believers, but Creator and Jesus both say that it's the SPIRIT/the Heart, that changes first.
The Mind and the Heart must desire MORE
