Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs Explains How Humans Needs Must Be Met From The Bottom Up. We cannot grow or change things like our Aesthetics/Beauty if we aren't able to feed our bellies.

If the brain stem becomes conditioned, due to a previous experience & traumas, to the sending of emergency signals to the brain, then even after the individual isn't in trouble, the brain will be Triggered by something that will send the brain back into 'Emergency Mode'. This will cause all the same physical reactions; flush in the face, shakes, tears, etc...

And because the brain has then switched into Emergency Mode, it cannot think clearly to process or grow. This supports Maslow's Theory that we must Heal & Meet our basic needs before we can achieve a higher level and quality of a balanced & healthy life.
